Balance isn’t about doing everything. It’s about knowing what actually matters — and having the courage to protect it.
In this episode of The Patty Show, Patty sits down with his Indonesian brother, Meta coworker, and quiet sensei Robin Malau — a true real-life multihyphenate who’s lived several lifetimes in one.
Robin is a self-described “Rockstar now Geek.”Born in Indonesia, he came up in the early 2000s underground music scene as the guitarist for legendary hardcore band Puppen, whose song “Atur Aku” was named one of Rolling Stone Indonesia’s 150 Greatest Songs of All Time. From packed shows and a rockband lifestyle to becoming a father, moving to the U.S., and leading high-impact projects for companies like Meta, Google, Amazon, Tesla, and more — Robin has had to learn balance the hard way.
This conversation goes deep.
We talk about:
Life in Bali and Indonesia in the early 2000s
The transition from music stages to tech boardrooms
Choosing what to say yes and no to as ambition grows
Fatherhood, identity, and redefining success
Why rest is not weakness — it’s strategy
Navigating health, burnout, and reinvention (including Robin’s “New Me” journey managing Type II diabetes)
How to protect joy, creativity, and purpose in a nonstop world
Robin brings wisdom shaped by experience — not hustle culture fluff. This episode is for anyone chasing big dreams while trying to stay human, healthy, and present.
If you’ve ever felt:
Torn between passion and responsibility
Burned out but still ambitious
Like you’ve lived multiple lives already
This one’s for you.

Brought to America at 16 years old and unable to return home for over a decade, Yafi shares what it’s really like to build a life under uncertainty—balancing responsibility, ambition, relationships, and creativity while staying grounded in purpose.
This conversation explores:
Life in Jakarta vs. Los Angeles
Immigration, identity, and redefining success
Soccer as structure, discipline, and joy
Relationships, community, and personal growth
Why meaningful progress often comes from small resets, not total restarts

What happens when play, culture, and creativity collide on a global stage?
In this episode of The Patty Show, I sit down with the legendary Emiko Saraswati Susilo — actor, singer, dancer, voice artist, cultural consultant, and all-around creative force whose work spans Disney, PlayStation, the United Nations, Calm, Swarovski, and beyond.
We talk about how Emiko turned Balinese dance, Southeast Asian identity, and joy-driven creativity into a global career — and why play isn’t something we outgrow, but something we forget to protect. From voice acting and cultural consulting to movement, storytelling, and self-expression, this conversation is full of insight, laughter, and perspective.
We also rewind to how we met while co-starring in an Indonesian short film, where she played my wife and I was aged up into a 65-year-old retired lawyer (yes, really). Despite the heavy themes on screen, the chemistry, play, and off-camera laughs made it one unforgettable creative weekend.
If you’re a creative, an artist navigating identity, or someone looking to bring more play, movement, and freedom back into your life — this episode is for you.

What you feed yourself—body, mind, and spirit—fuels everything you become.
In this episode of The Patty Show, Patty sits down with Mary Park — aka Makgeolli Mary — a Meta lawyer, proud Korean, and SoCal girl at heart who brings both wisdom and contagious energy.
From a chance meeting at a Meta AAPI happy hour in K-Town to deep conversations about nourishment, self-talk, and life pivots, this episode is about fueling your true fire — especially when life doesn’t go according to plan. Mary opens up about working in Incident Response Legal at Meta, her sorority days at UCLA (Chi Alpha Delta), holiday party antics, and the personal growth that came after an engagement that didn’t turn into marriage.
Together, we explore how food can be self-love, how energy is a long-game investment, and why honoring your body and intuition matters more than perfection. This conversation is honest, joyful, reflective, and full of laughs — a reminder that resets aren’t failures, they’re invitations.
If you’re rebuilding, re-energizing, or redefining what success looks like, this episode will meet you right where you are.

Motivation fades. Mindset stays.
In this episode of The Patty Show, Patty sits down with his Peruvian brother Julio Candia for a powerful conversation about building a mindset that lasts longer than motivation. What started as a college friendship turned CPA duo at Fairfield University became a lifelong bond rooted in growth, leadership, and purpose.
Julio shares his journey from Peru to college life in the U.S., stepping into student leadership, and navigating post-grad life with discipline and intention. He opens up about working alongside his family at Mi Chinita Peruana, one of Bridgeport’s most beloved Peruvian restaurants, and how culture, consistency, and responsibility shaped the way he shows up in life.
Together, they explore how mindset beats motivation, how joy can exist inside discipline, and how to reset when you fall off track. Julio also talks about finding confidence through competitive salsa dancing, staying grounded through routine, and building a life that reflects who you are—not just what you do.
This episode is for anyone craving direction, cultural pride, and real tools to stay consistent long after the hype wears off.

Your body is the first home you ever live in — and how you treat it shapes your confidence, leadership, and sense of purpose.
In this powerful and personal episode, Patty reconnects with Pejay Lucky, a longtime mentor and foundational figure from his college years. Pejay played a major role in Patty’s development during his time in residence life and student leadership, offering guidance during pivotal moments of growth, heartbreak, and self-discovery.
Together, they reflect on their work with Distinguished Gentlemen, a student organization centered on healthy masculinity through three core pillars: Justice, Unity, and Discipline. From the Annual Women’s Appreciation Dinner to domestic violence awareness initiatives and leadership programming, they discuss how those experiences shaped their values and continue to influence their lives today.
Pejay shares his evolution toward treating the body not as something to punish or “fix,” but as a sanctuary — a place deserving of care, gratitude, and discipline rooted in love rather than shame. The conversation expands into faith, resilience, identity, and what it means to lead with integrity.
Now serving as Assistant Dean for Student Success at Fairfield University’s Bellarmine Campus, Pejay also speaks about his work mentoring students and his growing initiative focused on guiding men toward purpose, accountability, and wholeness. He opens up about fatherhood, marriage, community building in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and the role faith in Christ plays in his life.
Topics include:
Healthy masculinity and leadership
Faith, discipline, and self-respect
Navigating heartbreak and personal growth
Body gratitude and self-care
Mentorship, education, and legacy
This episode is a reminder that strength isn’t just physical — it’s emotional, spiritual, and lived out daily through how we care for ourselves and others.

EP. 69 – Flexibility Is Freedom
Jan 1, 2026
Jan 1, 2026
1 hr 24 min
Flexibility isn’t just about stretching your body—it’s about learning how to move through life without breaking.
In this New Year’s episode of The Patty Show, I sit down with a former Division I athlete turned engineer whose life has been shaped by movement, culture, and adaptability. With roots spanning Barcelona and Madagascar, fluency across multiple languages, and experiences that stretch far beyond the court, this conversation explores what it really means to stay flexible—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
We talk about letting go of rigid expectations after competitive sports, rediscovering joy in movement by running without a watch, and how learning to adapt has opened doors in career, travel, and identity. From elite athletics to engineering, from structured training to intuitive living, this episode is about bending with life instead of fighting it.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, burned out, or overly attached to “the plan,” this conversation is a reminder that freedom often lives on the other side of flexibility.
✨ New year. New mindset. More room to breathe.
